The bad news is that Williams, who enrolled at Penn State in January, was recently diagnosed with a hernia according to multiple sources near the program.
The good news? It had nothing to do with carrying the weight of the Nittany Nation on his shoulders. And, more importantly, the same sources said the problem will be taken care of with a routine surgical procedure Friday.
Williams should be back to full strength by March 28, the expected starting day of spring practice.
Williams graduated a semester early from high school so he could enroll at Penn State last month. He signed a letter of intent with the Nittany Lions Wednesday.
