Sophomore forward Geary Claxton was a third-team All-Big Ten pick by the coaches and media. And sophomore guard Mike Walker won a sportsmanship award from the league.
Cornley, State's third-leading scorer (11.5 ppg) and second-leading rebounder (5.4 rpg), is by far the pacesetter in both areas among conference rookies. He was named Freshman of the Year by the coaches and media. He has started 20 of 27 games for the Nittany Lions, and also won a spot on the All-Freshman team.
Claxton is Penn State's top scorer (15.5) and rebounder (7.2) and ranked among the league's top 10 in both departments. His 3.5 offensive rebounds per game in conference play are tops in the Big Ten.
Penn State's sixth man, Walker is averaging 6.5 points and has a team-high 39 3-pointers.
The 14-13 Nittany Lions take on Northwestern in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament in Indianapolis Thursday. The game tips just after noon and will be carried by ESPN2.
