According to the Oakland (Mich.) Press, Breen became the fifth high school senior-to-be to announce for Penn State's Class of 2007. According to the paper, the Nittany Lions were the first Big Ten program to offer a scholarship, and Breen took them up on the offer.

With soon-to-be four-year starter Jeremy Kapinos set to graduate after the 2006 season, the PSU staff considered punter a position of need even though it figures to have less than 20 grants to offer for this class.

Breen, from Clarkston (Mich.) High, figures to battle with walk-on Jeremy Boone to replace Kapinos. Boone will be a redshirt freshman in 2006.

We will have more details on this commitment as they become available.
