Penn State added to its list of commitments for the 2006 recruiting season with the addition of Andrew Dailey.
“Today was a great day because I committed to Penn State,” Dailey said.
Dailey, the four-star linebacker prospect from Washington High School
in Massillon, Ohio committed to the Nittany Lions after returning home
from an unofficial visit to Happy Valley earlier this week. He first
called Jay Paterno, who was recruiting Dailey, and then called Joe
Paterno at his home.
“I’m excited,” Dailey said. “I got home from my visit, I talked it over
with my parents, and I realized that Penn State was where I wanted to
be.”
Dailey, who spent two days in State College, was hosted by junior
quarterback Anthony Morelli. He is the first prospect from Ohio to
commit to the Nittany Lions this season.
“I don’t feel pressure being the first guy from Ohio,” Dailey said. “A
lot of people in Ohio have respect for Joe Paterno and he was one of
the big reasons I committed. He was very excited when I told him I
committed.”
Dailey marks the tenth commitment for Penn State’s class of 2006.
