His team lost. But the Penn State signee came up big as a pass-catcher in Altoona Friday night.

His team may have lost in the 2009 Pennsylvania East-West All-Star Game. But Penn State signee Christian Kuntz had a big night in Altoona.

Kuntz, a 6-foot-4, 190-pound receiver from Camp Hill, Pa., led the West with five catches for 114 yards and two touchdowns in the 37-22 loss to the East.

Both scores came in the fourth quarter, one a 66-yard catch and run on which Kuntz caught the ball and shrugged off a defensive back before sprinting into the end zone, the other on a 3-yard fade.

Kuntz, who missed much of his senior season at Trinity High due to injury, was the only Penn State scholarship player competing in the East-West Game this year. He was the state 110-meter hurdle champion earlier this spring.
