2005 STATS: (11 Games) - Rushed for 1639 yards and 26 touchdowns on 189 carries. Caught 12 receptions for 223 yards and two touchdowns. On defense, recorded seven interceptions (returned two for a TD). Also returned one punt for a touchdown.
Coach's Audible: "Amari's acceleration is what stands out the most," said head coach Sean Marinan. "You can see it when he is carrying the ball with his vision and how he can burst through a hole. On defense, though, he has incredible closing speed, and on the high school level, he toys with quarterbacks in giving them the idea there is room to throw, but he closes in a hurry to make a play on the ball." |
