| Smith is a pass catching tight end that will need to continue to work on his blocking skills. Great size and athletic ability using his basketball background give Smith an advantage. Competitive and tough Smith has shown he’ll play through pain. Comes off the line well and does a good job of getting yards after the catch.- Midwest Recruiting Analyst Dave Berk |
| Biography: |
| Alex Smith is a wide receiver who will become a flex tight-end at the college level. As a junior, he had 27 receptions for 375 yards and six TDs. He says he can bench 325-pounds and has a 32-inch vertical jump.
Smith plans on majoring in marketing and reports a 2.8 core GPA and a 19 ACT.
Smith: “I feel like I’ve gotten better at blocking since last year. I was at 225-pounds last year and now I’m much bigger and stronger.
“I also have great hands and don’t drop the ball. There’s still room to improve on my blocking. And I’m always trying to perfect my routes.”
